How to Store Snus in Thailand's Heat
3 min read
Thailand's climate is wonderful for the beach and tough on snus. Heat and humidity gradually dry out pouches, weaken the flavour and shorten how long they stay at their best. A little care in storage goes a long way.
Refrigerate for the long term. The single best thing you can do is keep spare cans in the fridge. Cold temperatures preserve moisture and flavour, and snus keeps for many months this way. Just let a can come back toward room temperature before use for the best release.
Cool and dark for daily use. The can you are currently using does not need refrigeration, but keep it somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight — a drawer or cupboard rather than a windowsill.
Avoid the two big mistakes. Never leave snus in a parked car, where interior temperatures soar, and never leave a can in direct sun by the pool. Both will dry out your pouches fast.
Seal it up. Keep the lid closed between uses so moisture stays in. If pouches ever feel dry, they are past their best.
